| Pang is one of those addictive little games with which you can't get bored. This arcade game is probably one of the simplest games out there - all you have to do is to pop the balloons by shooting your arrows at them, and avoid getting touched by them. When you pop a big balloon, it splits into two smaller balloons. When you pop the smaller ones, they pop into even smaller ones, and so on, untill the you clear the screen of all balloons. |

Sure, it sounds easy enough, but, just you wait till you get on to the higher stages - more balloons, more obstacles, and less useful items to help you in your business of baloon popping :)
The game's controls are simple, and not that difficult to master (all you can do is move your character around, and pop the balloons). The zip includes a file named Ballcfg.exe , which you can use to see the default controls (change them, if you like) and set the number of players. |

Yes, you can play this game with your sister/brother/next door neighbour :) The good side of it is that you take less time to finish a stage.
One thing adds to the game's difficulty. If your character dies, you have to restart the stage. Same thing in two-player mode (at least you'll have someone to blame here - your game partner :) ).
The graphics are really good. Background graphics are pictures of prehistoric animals and lizards, and they change every three or four stages. If nothing else, you'll try to beat every stage just to see the next picture. The game offers one or two sound effects, and a couple of tunes (which change the same way the background pictures do). The tunes are OK, but I haven't managed to find a way to turn them off (just if you want to play something else on an external player).
Pang runs well from DOS, Win98 and Win95, and didn't require any slowing down during the tests (the game was tested on AMD Duron 750 mHz).
So, there you go, ladies an' gents. A great thing to kill some time, just don't overdo it! It's very addictive ;) |
