It's one hell of a good idea, this game! You might have seen a destruction derby or a destruction race in your life, but to the ones who haven't, I'll explain the idea.
There are a few ways of driving, but the most obvious differences is "bowl driving" and "track driving", track driving is just riding down a small track and bowl driving is one big circle with the border as its only boundary.

You can drive against time, against players or against destruction. Destruction is most fun, it means you will be driving down the track or in the bowl and the only thing that really counts is earning as many points as you can by crashing other players' cars and keeping your car from destruction. At the track there's also a lap limit, so points and place will decide who has won the race.
It's fun to play and the commentary gives it the extra kick. |

Destruction Derby was a pretty enjoyable game to play. The download process was a bit tedious, but once the gameplay started, it was indeed quite enjoyable.
The graphics were surprisingly good, for a downloaded game, and the gameplay was exciting. On another note, however, the car turning and handling was rather poorly finished. Turns were very precise and the car did not skid or drift as much as I thought a car actually would.
One time, during my gameplay experience, the cars piled up and I was stuck in the middle of many other cars and could not move. This was quite annoying in fact. Shortly after this pile up, my car was wrecked and I did not see any big collision that could have done that kind of damage. I believe it was just all of the cars compiled together like that which caused the damage to my car.
I do not believe I would ever purchase this game due to the fact that it is so one dimensional, however it was definitely a fun game to play for free. |
