Street Rod 2

Racing Game ()
Download Street Rod 2
This is one of the most difficult car racing games I've ever played. You start with $1200 and no car. Buy a car, maybe buy some parts for it and go racing against some opponents for money or just for kicks. From easy Drag Racing to some of the most difficult Aqueduct races. Winning in Drag racing means you have a fast car and good gear control, winning in Mulholland and Aqueduct races means you have the better racing skills.

Win in a small competition, keep on upgrading your car and become the very best!

Upgrading your car needs some knowledge of car parts, cuz you will have to add car parts manually, that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a car racing game.

A very cool game, but the gameplay could have been better, racing is really difficult. That way it's not addicting at all, more a little frustrating, but there is something like a good addiction level in the drag races an the competition.

I remember playing Street Rod 2 back in the 90’s. My brother and I found it on a disk in a box someone had been throwing away. To this day, I don’t think I’ve ever put as much time into a single game as I did Street Rod 2. I remember finding a text file hidden in the folder that had the answers for the security at the beginning (this was before you could ‘Google’ anything you wanted to know), and I felt like a little hacker. The game is pretty simple to understand. The premise is you buy and work on cars, then race them for cash or pink slips. You buy and sell the cars and parts, and work on them in your garage. Don’t forget to keep the gas tank full! When your car is ready, you head down to the diner to find some other drivers to race. The actual racing controls are fairly easy to use, but take some time to master. With the option to use a manual or automatic, you can add a little extra challenge, and reap the benefits of better performance if you choose the manual. The ultimate goal is to become good enough at racing and be able to afford a car fast enough so that ‘The King’ will race you. Beating him for pink slips allows you to win the game, and keep his awesome Corvette. The game does not require any mechanical knowledge, just a desire to be the best and plenty of time and patience to get there. The graphics are really quite improved over the first Street Rod. They are pretty good, and really help you get into the feel of the game. The action is not very detailed, but the images that don’t have to move look really good. The sound is not the greatest, but it’s really not too important to the enjoyment of the game. I’ve beaten the game several times, and it never seems to get old. There are times when I will go years without playing, but I always end up coming back to it in the eventually. Actually, I haven’t played in about 10 years, and I had intended to write a review about a different game, but when I saw the Street Rod 2, it brought back so many memories; I wanted to write about it. And just now as I’m writing this, I’m realizing that now I won’t be satisfied until I play it again. If you want to know more about the game, you’ll have to play it…that’s what I’ll be doing.
