Don't let the title fool you. This game has nothing to do with the excellent book of the same name, by F. Dostoyevski. Crime and Punishment (the game) is a text only simulation of court cases, with you in the role of the judge. Revise the facts concerning the crime, check the notes from the actual trial, learn the defendant's profile and choose the punishment.
It sounds easy enough, huh? Well, it isn't, and there are a couple of reasons for it. |

The game has a library of defendants' psychological profiles, general arrests/convictions history, jobs, ages, races and so on, which can create strange background info (since all of the mentioned connects at random). Then, there's the problem of people always being guilty of the crime they're accused of doing. Why is that a problem? Well, you and I both know that things don't work that way in the real life, right?
All the verdicts you reach are compared with those that a real judge would reach, and based on the differences between them you get more or less judicial IQ points. |
