This game actually is a collection of a few wintersports. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowball fighting and more!
You will have to train very hard and later on, you can challenge your friends to beat you. With a nice multiplayer mode and very nice sports to perform, this game is actually one that may have caught you playing alot, a few years ago.
It's always been rather known and I think I really know why that is. |

It's a very good game with great fun aspects, kids will get a laugh and some challenge, their parents will get a few months of rest.
Unless they start playing themselves, because this is a game for the young and the old. Challenge your dad into a game of snowball fighting, snowboarding or tube racing and win! |

I remember renting this game with my friend a looong time ago. If you liked the original Skate or Die game for the old old NES, then you would probably get a kick out of Ski or Die (with the exception of a few hiccups).
Both games have the same template. You pick out of a variety of games to play and then compete with each other in either a single player mode. Or, if you wish, you can play with a friend for some two player action.
You have the ability to create your own name (and up to 5 of your friends). From there you can compete or if you wish, practice in. There are 5 events in total. The five events are: Snow ball blast, Snow board half pipe, Inner tube thrash, Down Hill Blitz, and last but not least, the Acro Aerials.
The instructions for this game are a must. It is very hard to just pick this game up and go to town. You may have to search the interweb to find out how to do a lot of the various tricks and to just move around (in some of the events). Once you get the controls down though, the game feels more and more fun.
Some of the bad things about this game are as follows:
- It does look a lot like Skate or Die. I mean a lot. It almost feels that they just put a new coat of paint on it and shipped it.
- The cotrols are very frustrating to get used to. I know, most of us guys out there prefer to just pick up a game and start cutting it up. In order to get the most out of this game, you will either need a friend who played it or an online resource.
- The graphics could have been updated as well. It seems as though Skate or Die 2 made an attempt at progressing forward in not only the graphical department, but the music was awesome as well. I know that it is an NES game, but still...it could have been updated a little bit more than what they had done.
So all in all, if you had liked the original Skate or Die, you will probably like Ski or Die as well. It will take some getting used to. Actually probably a lot of getting used to. But in the end I think that it is a fun game. If you need to take a break from the frustration (trying to learn all of the controls) go ahead and play the Snow Ball Blast. That got me through the first few hours. |
