As a kid growing up, one of my favorite games to play, and still is, was Sid Myers “Colonization”. This is a simple game with a good story line. You start off by choosing your country. Then come the fun part, exploring a whole new world. You are able to play this game without having to be the best at the computers. It is very simple and easy to follow.
First you find a good location. |
|
|
| Next, you start building your colony up. Then move on. In the game there are several different types of people you can make you colonists and different jobs you can give them. You are also able to wage war with the other European settlers and Indians as well. Build up your economy to wage a war, or build a war machine to take over others and profit from them. In the end you have to declare independence from the motherland to become a new country. |

Now this is a game that I love to death. I play this game for at least four to six hours before I quit playing. I have beaten the game several times. But for some reason always find myself coming back for more.
Some of the best things about this game are the basic simple stuff that you don't get from today’s newest games. The graphics in this game and good. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'll give them a 6... Keep in mind that this game was made in 1995. I started playing this game by accident. I was sitting in the student center working. When I decided to see what was on the hard drive and started playing it, and playing it and playing it. Till I was leaving class or not going to class just to play this game. It is very addictive.
Some of the things that I don't like about this game are the most noticeable once you start playing. And that’s how fast the other nations are able to build and get new ships such as pirate ships that cost $2000 and up. .You also can't ask another nation to move their troops from around your cities but they can ask you. And trade goods that you take but to your home country always go down but never come back up so if you are making a lot of a product find another place to take it to. |
