Pizza Tycoon, one of the most innovative business simulations I've ever played. I don't like cheese and that means I don't like most pizzas too, but in this game, I forgot all about that. I actually played it a lot, quite some time ago. I never became a champion at it, though.
It's a hard game, with a very high fun level. Every aspect of the pizza market is treated. But I don't get it, why does every game, which involves an Italian subject, always have a lot to do with the mafia? I think this country, Italy, is sincerely misunderstood.
I recommend this one. |

| No, I want you to try this one out. This might be one of the best examples for the nostalgy of true oldies. It's not about the graphics, it's about the game. |

Pizza Tycoon is a great take on the tycoon world. You’re able to manage you’re own restaurants (everything from the lay out to the pizzas you serve). You even get to travel! You can open restaurants all over the world, in big cities.
Though, it is a little discouraging to see yet another Italy-based game so focused on food and the mod, it is a fun game with hours of entertainment. There is so much freedom! It is like the Chocaltier games that are out there, especially the new on where you can design your own chocolate.
Entering the pizza contests and creating new recipes was also really fun. This game was great because it require so much thinking, you really had to make decisions carefully like a real business owner would.
The important thing to remember in this game is that your customers want to eat in a pretty place. Concentrate on your layout, would you eat there? Beauty is utmost! You also need to think about your recipes. You do not want your customers to get bored, but you also need to follow trends. Are squids popular now, or did they fade sometime last week? Maybe lemons are in? The recipes might not sound good to you, but it is all about what the customer is interested in, remember you do not have to eat it, you have to sell it.
Also, make sure you are well fed before you start playing - all this pizza making selling will make you hungry!
I recommend this game, it is well worth your time, especially with spring break nearing. It might not be a remember me for life game, but it is a fun little time filler. I would try it before the other tycoon games. |
